Wellstar Family Series Guide

Looking for free, fun, and educational events for your kids this summer in Atlanta? The Wellstar Family Series at The Battery Atlanta offers a season full of exciting activities designed to engage children of all ages — and most events are completely free to attend.

Hosted on the Plaza Green next to Truist Park, this series features sports, STEAM learning, hands-on science, and even visits from local mascots. With free parking and a variety of dates and activities, it’s the perfect summer destination for Atlanta families.


Tuesday Tennis on the Turf

Dates: June 3, June 17, June 24
Ages: 4–12 (Parents encouraged to join)
Location: Plaza Green

In partnership with United States Tennis Association (USTA) Atlanta, this FREE tennis event introduces kids and families to the sport of tennis using mini nets, foam red balls, and kid-sized racquets. Each participant will take part in a 30-minute session with a professional coach from local tennis academies.

Participants should wear athletic clothing, closed-toe shoes, and bring a water bottle. Swag bags and information about beginner tennis lessons in the area will be available.

Blooper’s Color Hour

Date: June 12
Time: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM 
Location: Plaza Green

Join Blooper, the official mascot of the Atlanta Braves, for a fun-filled coloring session. This event is perfect for younger children and offers a relaxed, creative atmosphere for Braves’ youngest fans. Free parking is available in the Red, Yellow, Purple or Green decks.

SITKA x Delta Waterfowl Demonstration

Ages: 3–12
Location: Plaza Green

This outdoor education event lets kids experience the wild through duck identification, building duck blinds, and a scavenger hunt for decoys. Presented by SITKA Gear and Delta Waterfowl, the event promotes safe and engaging learning about wildlife.

Kidokinetics Adventure Course

Ages: 1–10
Location: Plaza Green

Get moving with the Kidokinetics Adventure Course, a dynamic event that introduces children to physical fitness and sports in a fun, encouraging environment. Each session includes a warm-up, three active stations, and two new sports taught by trained coaches.

Sports rotate every session, so families are encouraged to attend multiple dates.

Challenge Island STEAM Workshops

Dates and Themes:

  • June 26 – Under the Sea

  • July 10 – Bees and Pollinators

  • July 31 – Dinosaur Mini Golf
    Location: Plaza Green
    Class Size: 25 children and their grown-up

Challenge Island brings its award-winning STEAM program to The Battery Atlanta with unique, screen-free learning experiences. Each session encourages problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration while exploring different science themes.

Science Made FUN! by High Touch High Tech

Dates and Themes:

  • July 8 – Knockout Nature

  • July 29 – Fossil Fun
    Ages: 4–12
    Sessions: Two 45-minute sessions per day (same content)
    Location: Plaza Green

Young scientists can explore hands-on experiments led by degreed science professionals from High Touch High Tech of Greater Atlanta. These sessions are both educational and entertaining, offering kids an exciting entry into the world of science.

Please register for only one session per date, as both offer the same content.
